Available at OmniWatch & Co, this rare and beautiful Omega Seamaster 2849-2, reference 2849-2, is a classic timepiece from the late 1950s that perfectly captures the elegance and craftsmanship of Omega’s mid-century design.

Dating from circa 1958, this model features a 35mm stainless steel case, with a screw-down caseback and long twisted lugs that hug the wrist beautifully. The case proportions and finishing are characteristic of the golden era of Omega’s dress watches — timeless, clean, and enduring in appeal.

The silver sunburst dial is in excellent vintage condition, showing natural patina that adds a layer of authenticity and charm. The applied indices and dauphine hands enhance legibility and elegance, while the date window at 3 o’clock adds practicality to this classic design.

This Seamaster is fitted with a vintage Omega “Grain de Riz” bracelet (reference 8220), one of Omega’s most iconic and comfortable designs. Its fluid articulation offers both a refined aesthetic and excellent wearability.

Under the hood, the watch is powered by the Omega Caliber 503, a high-quality automatic movement with 20 jewels and a power reserve of approximately 42 hours. It is one of Omega’s early movements to incorporate a date complication, and it’s admired for its precision and durability.
